Here is where you can also make bookings on behalf of guests, and take your commission (the deposit) in real time – just click on the desired tour and follow the prompts to enter the guest details in the pop-up window. Please input your hostel name at the checkout where requested.

You can also check your QR Sales commission amounts, submit private tour enquiries, and easily request restocking of flyers etc. all from the header in the Hub.

What is Genov8?

Genov8 is an online ticket solution where guests can book Pub Crawls and Walking Tours. They can book directly with you at the desk, as usual, or can self-book on their own device by scanning the QR code. It means an enhanced guest-experience as your award-winning tours & activities are now more accessible than ever.

Do we earn commission on sales?

Yes, in fact, your commission will increase because you get the commission on all sales, whether made with you at the desk or when a guest books on their own device.

When a guest books the Pub Crawl or Paid Walking Tour with you directly at the desk, you’ll take the €6 per person deposit as your commission, as usual.

The real beauty of Genov8 is that guests can now also self-book onto Pub Crawl and walking tours – so you’ll earn the €6 per person commission on these previously uncaptured sales too.

When a guest scans your QR code (be it from a poster, check-in card, brochure, etc.), you’ll get the commission on every purchase they make for the next 30 days!

This is particularly useful when you’re too busy to take time to make the sale, or the guest prefers not to wait during busy desk times, or indeed prefers to have minimal desk interaction in general; they can still secure a booking, and you’ll still earn the commission rather than losing the sale.

How can we maximise commission?

Inform the guest as part-of the check-in process – recommend the unmissable tours & crawl as the ideal ways to get the most from their time in Dublin.

Draw their attention to the QR code on the check-in-card, posters, etc. during check-in, and let them know they can scan the code to book, or just book directly with you at the desk – whichever they prefer.

Tip: Our twice daily free-tour is a popular and easy-to-promote experience; when guests book their spots on free tours, they see all our other tour options too. If they subsequently book onto the Pub Crawl or other paid tours in the next 30 days, you’ll receive that commission – so you can easily earn commission on paid tours/crawl without even having to promote them individually.

Tip: The link behind your QR code is unique to you – so you can also use it in
pre-arrival emails, in-house guest app, blogs, or however else you’d like to
generate more commission on Pub Crawl and Paid Tour sales.

How do we book guests through desk.genov8.com?

When a guest opts to book onto the Pub Crawl or a walking tour with you at the desk, simply go to desk.genov8.com

-Click the tour the guest(s) want to join

-Choose the date and add how many pax in the booking

-Input the lead guest’s name, email address (spelled correctly), and phone number.

-Proceed to checkout.

-Enter your hostel name and hit the “place order” button.

-Take the deposit (your commission).

The guest will automatically receive a booking confirmation to their email detailing
the deposit paid, balance due, and meeting point info/directions, etc.

The desk.genov8.com portal is exclusively hostel desk-staff-facing and intended solely for you to book on behalf of guests as you currently do, but without the need for physical tickets.

When a guest scans the QR code they arrive at a different, guest-facing URL, genov8.com (+ extension) which is unique to your hostel. It’s a different UX and
design than the desk-staff portal you use.

How do we receive our commissions

For sales you make on desk.genov8.com (when a guest books a Pub Crawl or Paid Tour directly with you at the desk) you take your commission (the deposit) there at the point of sale, as you usually do. You no longer need to provide guests with physical tickets.

For all sales made by guests themselves on their own device, we pay out every Monday for the previous week’s sales. The method of pay-out and distribution will depend on your individual preference, but there are several options. You can also easily access your Genov8 back office to see commission amounts earned by date of sale.

Why do we need guests’ contact information?

We require guests’ contact details as part of our public liability insurance obligations. We have hitherto gotten this info from the guest during sign-up at the meeting point, but with the digital system in place the information is now collected at point of booking.

All info is handled in line with GDPR regulations, is used only where required to fulfil the booked service and after-service follow-up and is deleted from our database within the appropriate required timeframe.
